NSS & YRC Unit of our college in association with Lifeline Foundation and Mercy Mission had jointly organized a blood donation camp on the occasion of our nation’s 75 years of independence. As always our student volunteers were present throughout the camp to provide good support to the donors. One week prior to which our volunteers had created awareness on the importance of blood donation in social media ,interacted with people, visited 12 colleges throwing light on the importance of blood donation and motivating people to come forward and take the initiative of donating blood . The donors were provided with refreshments and certificates of appreciation. Out of 69 people who came forward only 52 could donate blood. The deferrals were due to low haemoglobin. The collected blood was later carefully sealed and transported to the Jeevaraksha blood bank who will provide free of cost to patients receiving treatment for Thalassemia . The wholehearted efforts, enthusiasm, teamwork, devotion and leadership skills of student volunteers and teachers made the camp a success.
